Interestingly pronounced “ki·ree·bas”, approximately 120,000 people live in the only country situated within all four hemispheres, with 33 atolls spreading into the North, East, South and West hemispheres. Known for seabird life, Kiribati offers world class flyfishing and scuba diving. The capital, Tarawa, has historic sites and artefacts from the Battle of Tarawa in World War II.
