This hotel soars above the rest

Papua New Guinea’s Airways Hotel and Residences has won the Oceania’s Leading Boutique Airport Hotel award for the 15th consecutive year at the 2022 World Travel Awards.

The award recognises the benchmark Airways Hotel has set in Papua New Guinea for the past 36 years.

The award gala ceremony was held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on September 7 where the winners from each region were officially announced in the lead up to the World Travel Awards in December.

World Travel Awards is globally recognised as the most prestigious honours program that acknowledges, rewards and celebrates excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries voted for by travel professionals, media and high-end consumers worldwide.

In a statement, the hotel said, “As the industry and market leader, we have always strived to showcase to the world the best of Papua New Guinea.”

“The award is a recognition of the continuous pursuit of excellence by our 600+ staff and their relentless commitment to delivering the best of Papua New Guinea.”

This year alone the hotel has also been nominated for The Worlds Luxury Awards and The World Luxury Spa Awards. Last month the hotel was the only PNG hotel listed and announced by TripAdvisor 2022 as one of the Best Hotels in the South Pacific.

The list includes top 25 hotels from the South Pacific region including Pacific island countries like Fiji, French Polynesia, New Zealand and Australia.

The hotel remained open throughout the pandemic and offered exceptional services evident in the awards and recognition they continue to receive.
