Must-watch Cook Islands police video goes viral

Updated

A new video to deter tourists in Cook Islands from drinking and driving has gone viral.

The video, made in collaboration with New Zealand Police and Cook Islands Tourism Corporation, has a New Zealand police officer of European descent speaking in Te Maori while sharing the screen with himself as a fairy.

It is a hilarious video but the message is driven home.

One look and people will definitely be sharing this public service advisory. It is raw and creative.

The Cook Islands has been open for tourism since July and tourist numbers – especially from New Zealand – have been high.

Obtaining a motorcycle or scooter driving license is quite easy for a tourist. It’s as simple as making an application and sitting a written and driver’s test, and takes around an hour.

However, the country has a problem with tourists who drink and ride their bikes, and hopefully this video will help.
